New information is published on the Open Data portal

About 100 new data sets are published on the open data portal data.egov.kz since the beginning of this month. The published information is provided by a variety of the government agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely, the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Justice, Akimat of the South Kazakhstan Region, and so forth.
All the data is of the current interest and relevancy covering diverse fields and spheres of activities. As such, for instance, the information regarding the level of unemployment in the context of different segments of population, statistics on the adopted children, data on the import of breeding large horned livestock, export of the grain and flour, information on the employment of graduates, property legalization data, the list of the touristic sites and routes, and information on the nature reserves of the South Kazakhstan region and so forth are also provided on the portal.
The data provided on the portal is published in two formats. The first one – the machine-readable format- best suits the programmers who develop IT products on the basis of the acquired information. The other one is the Excel format, which enables all the interest groups including citizens to be acquainted with the data.
Currently, there is more than 450 open data sets on the data.egov.kz in total.
Let us remind you that “Open Data” portal and the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the access to information” were acknowledged as the champion-projects of the WSIS Project Prize 2016 in Genève at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The campion-projects were nominated in the categories such as the “Access to information” and “ Enabling Environment”.
Open data is one of the five components composing the Open Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The introduction of this component is undertaken in accordance with the execution of the 94th step of the National Plan which includes 100 determined steps for implementing the five institutional reforms of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
