The competition for development of open- data-based mobile applications announced

National Information Technologies JSC would like to announce the competition for development of mobile application or web service based on open data on the data.egov.kz portal.
Increase in a number of data sets opens up new horizons to development ideas for useful services and applications. And the latter, in turn, enable citizens’ having access to a huge data array from multiple agencies.
NIT JSC, on its part, encourages any concerned parties’ initiatives of making use of API (Application Programming Interface) on thedata.egov.kz portal in the field of useful applications development.
The competition conditions:
Participants need to develop mobile applications for iOS (version 6+) or Android (version 4+) platforms and Windows Phone using open data located on the data.egov.kz portal via API. Multi-language interface will be welcomed.
Also, web applications (web services, telegram bots, etc.) developed based on open data will be considered as alternative to mobile apps.
For your convenience, the applications may either be sent as APK file (for Android applications) /IPA file (for iOS applications)/ XAP file (for WP applications), or be submitted via mobile apps` services distribution (TestFlight prototypes).

Important: copyright for application shall be reserved by the developer.
Deadline:
The developed applications are to be sent to nazerke.akhmetzhanova@nitec.kz through June 20, 2016 (with indication of full name and contact details). In case if application exceeds 10 MB, it is required to allocate it in one of the data archives (for instance, Google Docs, Dropbox) and indicate a link in a letter.
The competition results will be announced on July 1, 2016.
Prize: the winner will get a state-of-the art high-capacity transformer ultrabook.
All mobile applications participating in the competition will be evaluated by the competent jury.
