The unemployment rate in the capital is 4.4% (for the 4th quarter of 2024). This indicator is lower than the republican one by 0.2% points (in the republic – 4.6%). For reference: The rate of youth unemployment (aged 15-34 years) is 3.9% (under the plan – 4.2%) and female unemployment – 4.5% (under the plan – 4.7%). According to statistics, there are 717,208 people in Astana. of the labor force, 685,500 people are employed and 31,708 people are unemployed. 18,200 people applied to the Labor Mobility Center for labor mediation in the 1st quarter of 2025. There are 16,115 unemployed people registered.

At the moment, there are no existing contracts (licenses) for exploration and production of common minerals in the administrative territory of the city of Nursultan."
